Tod­dler Story Hour

Friends of Adaire in­vites preschool-age kids and their care­givers to par­ti­cip­ate in its weekly, themed story-and-crafts Tod­dler Story Hour in the lib­rary at Al­ex­an­der Adaire K-8 School, 1300 E. Boy Scout Troop 120 will hold a spa­ghetti din­ner fun­draiser on Sat­urday, Feb. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. John Can­ti­us Hall, 4415 Al­mond St. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for chil­dren 3 to 12 and chil­dren un­der 3 are free. Ti­gers mys­tery Bingo

The Port Rich­mond Ti­gers will host mys­tery Bingo on Sunday, Feb. 19 at St. George Church Hall, 2700 E. Adaire School­yard Ground­break­ing Cel­eb­ra­tion

The Trust for Pub­lic Land in­vites the com­munity to the ground­break­ing cel­eb­ra­tion of the Adaire School­yard Re­vital­iz­a­tion Pro­ject on Tues­day, Feb. 21 at 11:30 a.m. in the school­yard, 1300 E. FNA zon­ing meet­ing

Nar­can meet­ing

Rep. John Taylor, in con­junc­tion with Pre­ven­tion Point Phil­adelphia and Clean and Sober Ra­dio, will provide train­ing on how to re­cog­nize and re­spond to an opioid over­dose. Din­ner with Pol­ish Amer­ic­an

Food pantry morn­ing hours change

St. Mi­chael’s Church, Trenton Av­en­ue and Cum­ber­land Street, will change the hours of the weekly food pantry dis­tri­bu­tions ef­fect­ive Thursday, March 2. Dis­tri­bu­tion hours are from 11 a.m. to noon. There will no longer be even­ing hours. Mem­bers from the 19125 and 19134 may come twice a month or three times a month if a month has five Thursdays. Join the Fishtown Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation and hun­dreds of neigh­bors in cheer­ing on loc­al stu­dents as they an­swer ques­tions and ad­vance to the Fi­nal Four and Cham­pi­on­ship rounds at the 16th An­nu­al Fishtown March Mad­ness Aca­dem­ic Com­pet­i­tion at Shissler Rec Cen­ter, 1800 Blair St., on Thursday, March 23 at 3:30 p.m.  Thanks to our spon­sor, the Penn Treaty Spe­cial Ser­vices Dis­trict, we will be able to host what has be­come a cel­eb­ra­tion of edu­ca­tion in our com­munity. Fishtown Teach­ers and Edu­cat­ors of the Year will be honored and the Joseph M. Min­arik Me­mori­al Award will be presen­ted to a spe­cial group that has been work­ing with Fishtown-area youth to ex­pand their ho­ri­zons. The event is sponsored by the PTSSD. Vo­lun­teers needed. Ap­plic­a­tions sub­mit­ted be­fore Feb. 24 will be se­lec­ted by lot­tery. Any ap­plic­a­tions sub­mit­ted after Feb. 24 will be placed on a wait­ing list. The lot­tery will be held March 2. PVVM me­mori­al mark­ers

The dead­line for spring or­ders for the 12 x 12 gran­ite pavers has been changed to March 31. The $350 dona­tion made pay­able to (PVVM)  Phil­adelphia Vi­et­nam Vet­er­ans Me­mori­al, Front and Spruce streets, is used to main­tain the site which hon­ors the 648 Phil­adelphi­ans who died dur­ing the Vi­et­nam War. Ap­pro­pri­ate per­son­al­iz­a­tion that hon­ors any Vet­er­an’s ser­vice in­cludes four lines of text with 21 units per line. Cione Play­ground pro­grams

Cione Play­ground, 2600 Ara­mingo Ave., is of­fer­ing pro­grams to the pub­lic. Sum­mer Day Camp re­gis­tra­tion starts March 1. Camp is for kids ages 5 to 12 and runs from June 26 to Aug. 18. Glav­in pro­grams

Frank Glav­in “A&W” Play­ground is of­fer­ing the fol­low­ing pro­grams. Im­prov for Kids is held on Thursdays, from 6:30 to 7:30, start­ing on Feb. 16, for chil­dren ages 8 to 12. Po­lice, fire­men, breast can­cer and yel­low bows are al­ways avail­able. Bows and ban­ners cost $3 each and can be pur­chased any week­day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Spe­cial col­ors are avail­able in one week.
